Why are we doing this?
- Financial savings: Geothermal heating has significantly lower running costs than district heating. According to estimates, the association could save up to 70% on heating costs each year. Solar panels can also reduce members' electricity bills by using self-generated electricity.
- Environmental benefits: By switching to geothermal heating, the association reduces its carbon footprint and achieves a better energy rating. This opens up the possibility of a so-called 'green mortgage' for both the association and its members.
- Property value: Investments in energy efficiency increase the property's value and attractiveness on the housing market.
What should we do?
- Install geothermal heat pumps to replace the current district heating system
- Drill boreholes for pipes to supply us with geothermal heat
- Install solar panels on the roofs of our properties
- Install charging points for electric cars
